WWE’s Clash in the castle The pay-per-view on September 3 marks the first time the promotion has held a major pay-per-view event in the UK since 1992. The show is currently leading Roman Reigns versus Drew McIntyre for the WWE Undisputed World Championship, but an extra wrinkle was added on SmackDown last week when it returned Carrion Cross and Scarlett. The two-time NXT Champion attacked McIntyre from behind, then indicated that Reigns would be his next target. Reports have already surfaced that Kroos is now the #2 heel on SmackDown’s indoor roster behind Reigns and fans are starting to wonder if he will somehow be included in the title match.
According to Dave Meltzer from Wrestling Watcher This is not the case, at least for the time being. He said on Wrestling Observer Radio, “For Cardiff it’s still Roman and Drew and I’ve been told – of course, this can always change – but I’ve been told it really won’t change. They felt that had to be a match. So as much as when [Kross] He gets his shot at Roman Reigns, I have no idea when that will be.”
Calling the original Cross to the main roster in 2021 was disastrous as he was promptly repackaged in a strange wrestler outfit and Scarlett wasn’t on his side. By the end of the year, both had been released by the company and Cross would go on to admit in interviews that he was surprised by the release.
